The PA convention 2006 in Stockholm

Hotel HasselbackenThe 49th Annual Convention of the Parapsychological Association will be held for three full days, from Friday August 4th through Sunday August 6th 2006, at the Hasselbacken Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden. Stockholm is often referred to as the "Venice of the North" and the Scandic Hasselbacken is in an excellent location and is one of Stockholm's most renowned hotels. This beautiful hotel is located within the former royal hunting grounds of Djurgården. It is surrounded by spacious green forest and walking paths. It is a quiet area and cars are allowed in on summer evenings and weekends (and with a special permit). Skansen open-air museum, Museum of Nordic History, and Gröna Lund amusement park are in the vicinity.

Hasselbacken dinnerHotel accommodations should be booked directly with the Hasselbacken Hotel. Be sure to mention that you are attending the PA Convention to receive a special discounted price. The plan is for the hotel to offer conference rates both before and after the conference itself.

Participants are encouraged to arrive a day or two (or even earlier) before the convention to enjoy Stockholm, as the three-day convention may not provide much free time for sightseeing, with one exception: There may be a short boat trip and a reception at the City Hall as part of the program. Following the convention a longer boat trip (for a half or full day) is planned, for an additional fee, for interested participants. (See here for information about Stockholm).

Program Chair will be Christine Simmonds. For other questions associated with the Stockholm venue, please contact the local host, Goran Brusewitz.
